As of the 1st May 2003, it was no longer possible to bury fallen stock, following a change in legislation.
In 2003 The National Fallen Stock Company was setup by Defra and the Devolved Authorities, in partnership with industry, and is designed to assist farmers and horse owners to comply with the new regulations concerning non burial of fallen stock animals.
Naturally you will find we are registered as collectors and as a disposal point. Should you choose not to join the scheme you still have the option to use our service for this type of collection, by either telephoning or by email.
As well as collecting dead stock, Dundas Hauliers are also licensed to destroy stock on farm if required; this is done at no extra charge.
Information you must provide for booking in dead or live stock:
If you have a Bovine animal over 48 months we are still required by Animal Health to take a brain stem sample which is then tested under the TSE scheme. We therefore require a movement card to be given to the driver at the time of collection. This is then used to trace the sample on its journey from ourselves to VLA. Please send the rest of the passport back to BCMS.
